Peter said: "I am pleased
to have won in this category. The butterfish are usually found in
crevices and under rocks. Although the litter on the seabed of the lochs
can provide temporary refuge to fish, its not ideal as the tidal surge
will move it about and stress any inhabitants that want to find shelter.
The sea lochs are very special habitats and the image was taken with
fellow Seasearch divers as we surveyed the benthic marine life. I was
about to collect this can to tidy up, but when the head popped out, I
watched and left it undisturbed. I'll return again and collect it
another time Twin strobes illuminate the subject as the peaty,
freshwater halocline reduces light penetration with depth."
