David said: "This was my 4th year entering this competition and I have enjoyed some success in the past getting images into the Portfolio Yearbook and winning the Urban Greenspace category last year, but it was still a total surprise to win the Sea & Coast category this year and a great honour to also be awarded the overall winning title of Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year 2015.

"My winning image was taken at the end of a pleasant evening shooting the sunset over Tantallon Castle from Seacliff beach. It was taken nearly an hour after sunset and I was trying to make my way back along the beach to the car park before it got completely dark when I spotted the water-formed shapes in the sand leading to the Bass Rock in the distance and had to stop for one last shot - thankfully I did!"

Max said: "I am very excited about winning. Scotland is where I started photographing birds. I wanted to identify them using the rings they are recorded with. I have lots of favourite spots I head to in Scotland but it took a lot of persuasion to get my Dad to take me to Mull. I am so pleased he did because I had a great time with my camera. The White-tailed Eagles were definitely the highlight."

Lewis said: "I was thrilled to have been shortlisted for the competition, so to actually be selected for first place is a complete surprise.

"The Cairngorms is a beautiful place to work and I thoroughly enjoyed my time watching the charismatic wildlife and experiencing the rich cultural heritage of the area. To have my work recognised by a panel with expertise in the field is a great honour, and I’m delighted to have this award to carry with me when I graduate this year."
