The Scottish Nature Photography Awards celebrate nature, wildlife and landscape photography in Scotland.

The Scottish Nature Photography Awards Photographic Competition was launched in 2010 to provide a platform to celebrate Scotland as a key destination for nature photographers and to acknowledge the excellence of the photographic work that is undertaken here through the award of the title of "Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year". The annual competition invites entries of images taken in Scotland by professional or amateur photographers from around the world.

One of our key objectives for the Scottish Nature Photography Awards is to encourage and promote emerging talent. Our "Student Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year" competition is open to students over the age of 18 undertaking a Photography element in their further or higher education course and our "Junior Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year" title is open to young photographers under 18 years of age.

The 2024 Photographic Competition is open for entries from 10th September 2024 to 30th November 2024. You can make sure you get the latest news about the competition by subscribing to our free monthly e-newsletter.

In 2016 we introduced the Scottish Nature Video Award. The Scottish Nature Video Award 2024 is open for entries from 10th September 2024 to 30th November 2024.

From time to time we run other events such as our biennial online vote for Favourite Scottish Nature Photography Book. The winners can be viewed in our Awards archive.

The Scottish Nature Photography Awards is run and managed by Perspectives, Partners N & J Irvine.

The Scottish Nature Photography Awards is proud to support the Artists' Bill of Rights. You'll find us on the 'Rights On' list of competitions that meet the standards set out in the Bill of Rights For Artists and are recommended because they respect the public's intellectual property rights.
